We made it through the first week back. We have been working hard at reducing the noise level and following instructions and focusing on transitions so that less time is wasted switching activities and more time is spent on working.
We had a library period to start the day and when we returned we reviewed 3D solids, the important terms faces, edges and vertices and then continued to work on the pages 126, 127 in the Math text. After recess, we did more math and this period we looked at area: the amount of space an object takes up on a surface. We used non-standard units to introduce the concept.
After lunch we reviewed "procedure writing" and today students we to write "How to Make a TemperatureGraph." Students have made 5 graphs this year, and those in my class last year have made 15.
Students had 45 min. class to complete a majority of the the writing. If not complete it was sent for homework. Remember, to focus on BEING SPECIFIC!!
After recess students attended their cluster choices.
