We had an early start to our dress rehearsal for the the Winter concert. We enjoyed all the other classes performances and are well prepared for our performance tomorrow night. ( Students are reminded to come at 6:15pm and meet in the lunchroom.)
We had a few minutes to enjoy a book while we waited for lunch to begin.
After recess, I handed out Math textbooks and we reviewed multiplication and repeated addition and how to write both kinds of math sentences and how they relate to each other. We worked on a couple pages in the text. We are practicing how to read instructions and answer questions from the text, and keep it organized in our notebooks. 3+3+3+3= 12 4x3=12 eg. xxx xxx xxx xxx

4 and 3 are factors
12 is the sum 12 is the product
We read two more chapters of Mr. Stink. We are getting close to the end. It is great when the students don't want me to stop reading. Today we had a interesting chat that related to our watching of Horton Hears a Who, the moral of " A person is a person." In Mr.Stink, we learned that "every homeless person has a story to tell." We then connected it to our artwork we did on Friday where we looked at different labels that we or others can put on us. So in our discussion, I wanted children to think about when they see a homeless person, that they are a person first, and they are also someones child, parent, aunt, brother, etc.
Last period, students went to the library with Mr. Brutto.
