Wednesday November 30 Day 5

We had a very fun morning.   The whole school went to the gym to watch a performance and speaker talk about bullying.   Using basketball skills as a focus  Q-Mack and his beatboxer  sidekick, did tricks and spoke about being bullied and how that decreased his confidence but trying new things and getting good at them built his confidence.     The class loved the performance and hopefully got the main idea about bullying and the harm it can do.   But also, how one need to build your own confidence if others try to bring you down.

After recess, and after the first snowfall of the season we only had about 25 min before lunch, so we created our December Temperature graphs.

After lunch we began the rough copies of our newspaper ads.   We reviewed the main features of ads then we decided on a product we would like to sell and the target market.    We then worked on the placement of words, size of words, the graphics and the message we wanted in the add.     The students were quite focused on this so we kept working so tomorrow we can start the good detailed copy.   We then read another chapter of "Mr. Stink".    Chloe's dad went into the shed and found Mr. Stink but when asked by his wife, he said he didn't see anything.  He was hungry and asked Chloe to get him some break fast.   She got distracted in the kitchen talking to her father about why he said he didn't see Mr. Stink.     Her mother then told them to get ready for the interview with the newspaper.  Everything seemed to be going fine... until  Mr. Stink knocks on the window and asks for his breakfast, right in the middle of the interview.

We finished the day off in Music with Mr. Cook.
HOMEWORK: Read. Reading Response.
