Tuesday November 15 Day 5

We started the day off with a walk outside to get an idea of how far a kilometre was.    We used a trundle wheel and everyone got a turn counting clicks as we walked around the field and school two times.  It took just over 16 min. to walk 1 km.

When we came back in we did more Math. We used tangrams to do some problem solving, and we also solved some word problems that focused on measuring in cm.

After recess we did some science. We did an experiment where we looked at the colours in leaves.   Are the colours there in the leaf or does it change because of temp. This experiment shows that the colours of the leaves are already in the leaves.      We used spinach and filter paper to prove this point.

After lunch we learned more about writing reviews, and then we added pictures and captions to the front page of our newspapers.    We also worked on Lesson 9 spelling.   We completed the day in Music with Mr. Cook.
