November 7-11 week in reveiw

It was a very busy week last week and I apologize for my lack of posts this week.

We have been working on Measurement  with Mr. Greenwald and he introduced the centimetre, and metre.
We will continue to practice with these units and will also introduce the kilometre this week.

We were working on our articles for our newspapers, focusing on the recount and making sure that it lists the 5 w's.    We editted our work and mounted our articles on the front page.

We attended the Royal Winter Fair and had a great time.  It was great the see the connection with what we are learning in Social Studies.   "Farmers feed cities."    We gained valuable insight into where food and other products come from.   We really like the dog show.  So much fun!!

On Friday we attended the Remembrance Day Assembly.   A piper lead us through the school and we ended up in the Gym where we remembered those that gave their lives for us so we could live free in such a great country like Canada.   We had several good discussions about war in the class.
On Friday we did an art lesson that helped us review the idea of  rural areas, we also reviewed the parts of a tree all while creating a work of art.
