Thursday October 20 Day 2

We had Gym first period, and Mr. McCain said the students did a great job.
When we returned after Gym,  we did Geometry.  We learned about angles.  We looked  at right, acute, and obtuse anglels.  We practiced making different angles with popsicle sticks.   We then looked at the angles in different shapes, also building them with popsicle sticks.

After recess, we Math activities. We did the final rotation of the week.

After lunch, we had a discussion about name calling and racism.  We talked about being respectful of others looks, language, accents etc.   We then started our new novel called, "Mr.Stink."   It is a novel about the friendship between a 12yr old girl named Clohe and a homeless man called, Mr. Stink.  It takes place in London, England.  We learned that Clohe is not happy at home, or at school because she is bullied by other girls at her posh girls' school.

Later, we started to work on nouns.   We learned that nouns are persons, places, or things.  We then did an activity that reviewed this.

After recess, we read to ourselves or read to someone else, while Mr. Singbeil read individually with others students.

HOMEWORK:  Read.   Reading Response.  Focus on adding support to your connections.
                          Bring in an articfact that you will talk about that is important to you as an 
                          introduction to Mr. Greenwald.
