We had a change in plan right off the start of the day. Mr. McCain was covering the office so Gym was switched to the afternoon. When we got to class we had our agendas checked, and graphed the high temp. 22C and low temp. 12 C on our daily temperature graph. We then read the morning message on the Smartboard. We were filling in missing words from the message.
We then moved into a review of Math from the previous days. We divided into two groups. One group worked on patterning while the others worked on number words. The patterning group used colour tiles to create patterns with one or more attributes changed. They then recorded the pattern in their Math notebook and had to describe what attributes changed and how.

After recess we switched groups. The class was really focused and I was very pleased with how they were working during Math class.
After lunch, we did Writing. Each student was given a jouranl notebook. Students can write anything they want in their journal. Sometimes coming up with something to write about is challenging, so as a class we brainstormed ideas of things to write about if one was having trouble choosing a topic. Starting tomorrow, we will begin eachday off with journal writing so students are focused and have something to work on when they arrive to class.
Mr. McCain had PE outside before recess.
Last period we had a finish up period. We had a patterning activity, writing activity and journals to complete.
